Independent Film Master Class ROCKS!

FA's Independent Film Master Class finished as strongly on Sunday as it began on Saturday. Although the A to Z independent filmmaking seminar couldn't possibly address all issues in detail over a single weekend, all the key points were hit with force and eloquence. Although dense with information, some of the most valuable take-aways were insights dealing with an over-all perspective on how to approach each step of the process. It really was everything we hoped it would be - a profoundly valuable, real-world guide to getting indie films made.

The next FA Screening at The Echo Park Film Center will be Friday, March 30th at 7:30 pm.

Come and see what FA members and other members of the LA and global filmmaking community are up to creatively, and support the great work that the EPFC people are doing in our community. The center is a volunteer run organization that offers fantastic super 8mm film classes, youth classes, and much more, so we do ask that you leave a $5 donation at the door to help keep the Center going.

Opening Night at the Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival

Speechifying at the Opening Reception for the

first ever Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival.

There will be some amazing Turkish films at this festival and the creme de la creme of current Turkish cinema will be in attendance at their films. I will be moderating a Q & A on Sunday night with filmmaker Semih Kaplanoğlu who will be screening his amazing film "Bal" (Honey) at 6 p.m. at the Egyptian Theater.
